| ST TUDNOS CHURCH Llandudno | ||||
| St Tudno's Church, Great Orme. In the sixth century the Celtic monk, Tudno, came to the Great Orme to bring the message of Christianity to the inhabitants of the headland. Tudno founded his cell on the north east of the Great Orme, overlooking the sea, and Christians have worshiped at the site ever since. The present church building dates back to the 12th century but was enlarged in the 15th century and restored in the 19th century. Open air services are held every Sunday throughout the summer and times of additional services, including a celebration of St. Tudno’s day on 5th June, are shown on the church notice board. Open air services at 11.00 am every Sunday from the end of May until the end of September. (Services are held in the church in bad weather.) | ||||
